What Uses Credits

Several premium features in TriviaNow consume credits when you use them. Each feature has a specific credit cost, which you can view in Dashboard > Billing > Features tab.

Features That Use Credits

FeatureDescription
Live SessionHosting a live trivia session for your players
AI Question GenerationGenerating trivia questions using AI
Surprise SessionLaunching an AI-generated trivia session on the fly
Friend InvitationsSending email invitations to friends

[!TIP] Check the exact credit cost for each feature in Dashboard > Billing > Features tab before you start, so there are no surprises.

When Credits Are Deducted

Credits are deducted at the moment you initiate an action — for example, when you click “Go Live”, “Generate”, or “Send Invitation”. If you don’t have enough credits, you’ll see an “Insufficient credits” message and the action won’t proceed.

Combined Credit Checks

Some features require credits for multiple actions at once. For example, a Surprise Session checks that you have enough credits for both the session hosting and the AI question generation before it starts. If your balance doesn’t cover both, the action is blocked.

Viewing Your Usage History

To see how your credits have been spent:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Billing > Usage tab.
  2. Review your consumption history, including the feature used, the date, and the number of credits deducted.

This is helpful for understanding your usage patterns and planning when to purchase more credits.

[!NOTE] If you believe credits were deducted incorrectly, contact our support team through the Contact page with the details from your usage history. See our Refund Policy for more information.

Running Out of Credits

If your balance hits zero, you can still access TriviaNow — you just won’t be able to use credit-based features until you top up. You have a few options:

  • Buy a credit pack for an instant top-up. See Purchasing Credits.
  • Upgrade your subscription for more monthly credits.
  • Wait for your billing cycle to reset if you have an active subscription (credits refresh automatically).
