Managing Friends

Your friend list is your personal roster of players. Add the people you play with regularly, and TriviaNow will keep track of their identity across every session they join through your invitations.

Adding a Friend

1. Navigate to Dashboard > Friends.
2. Click “Add Friend”.
3. Enter the friend’s name and email address.
4. Click Save.

Each friend must have a unique email address within your account. If you try to add someone who’s already on your list, you’ll see the error:

“A friend with this email already exists” — This person is already in your friend list. Search for their name to find the existing entry.

Editing a Friend

Need to update a name or email? No problem.

1. Find the friend in your list.
2. Click Edit.
3. Update the name or email address.
4. Click Save.

Changes apply immediately and carry forward to future sessions.

Archiving and Unarchiving

If someone is no longer part of your regular group, you can archive them instead of deleting. Archived friends are hidden from your active list but can be brought back anytime.

• Archive — Removes the friend from your active list. Their historical session data is preserved.
• Unarchive — Brings them back to your active list, ready to be invited again.

[!NOTE] Friends are linked to your account. Other hosts have their own separate friend lists. If you and a colleague both host trivia, you’ll each manage your own roster.

Identity Tracking

One of the biggest benefits of the Friends feature is persistent identity. When a friend joins your session through an invitation link, TriviaNow knows exactly who they are. Their scores, streaks, and stats are tracked consistently across sessions, making your Player Leaderboard accurate and meaningful over time.
