| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Effect | Multiplies your score for the next question |
| Target | Yourself (self-targeting) |
| Activates | On the next question |
How It Works
- During the Power-Up Selection phase, pick Points Multiplier.
- A “Multiplier Active” badge appears on your screen showing your boost (e.g., “2x Points”).
- Answer the next question — if you get it right, your final score for that question is multiplied by the configured value.
- If you get it wrong, you still score zero. The multiplier only applies to correct answers!
The exact multiplier value (2x, 3x, etc.) is configured by the host, so it may vary between sessions.
Risk and Reward
This power-up is a gamble — and that is what makes it exciting:
| Outcome | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Correct answer | Your points are multiplied (e.g., 500 pts becomes 1,000 pts at 2x) |
| Wrong answer | You score zero — the multiplier does not help |
| No answer (timeout) | You score zero — the multiplier does not help |
[!TIP] Strategy tip: Use the Points Multiplier when you feel confident about the upcoming topic, or when you spot a question category you know well. It is also great for late-game comebacks — if you are behind, a big multiplied score can close the gap fast.
When to Use It
- When you are confident in your knowledge of the current topic
- During late-game rounds when you need a big push to climb the leaderboard
- On high-base-score questions where the multiplier yields the biggest payoff
- When you are feeling bold and want to make a statement
