Having trouble with your TriviaNow account? Whether it’s a login problem, email verification issue, or profile update, this page has you covered.

Can’t Log In

If you’re unable to sign in to your account, work through these steps:

  1. Double-check your email address — Make sure you’re using the exact email you signed up with (watch for typos)
  2. Try Google sign-in — If you originally signed up with Google, the regular email/password login won’t work. Click the Google sign-in button instead.
  3. Reset your password — Click “Forgot Password?” on the login page to receive a password reset link
  4. Check email verification — Your account may not be verified yet. Look for a verification email from when you first signed up and click the link
  5. Clear your browser cache — Sometimes outdated session data can interfere with login

[!TIP] Not sure whether you signed up with email or Google? Try both options. If you used Google, the Google sign-in button will recognize your account automatically.

Email Verification Not Arriving

If you’re waiting for a verification email and it hasn’t shown up:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder — Automated emails often end up there
  2. Wait 5-10 minutes — Email delivery can sometimes be delayed
  3. Verify the email address — Make sure the email you entered during signup is correct (no typos)
  4. Request a new verification email — Go to the login page and look for the option to resend the verification
  5. Check your email provider settings — Some email providers (especially corporate or school accounts) block automated emails. Try adding TriviaNow to your safe senders list

[!NOTE] If you’re using a corporate or school email, your IT department may block emails from unfamiliar senders. Consider using a personal email address for your TriviaNow account.

Can’t Change Email

Changing your email address requires verification on both ends. Here’s what to keep in mind:

  • You need access to both your current and your new email address
  • The verification link sent to your new email expires after a limited time — act quickly once you receive it
  • Check both inboxes, including spam and junk folders
  • Make sure the new email isn’t already associated with another TriviaNow account

Avatar Upload Failing

If your avatar upload isn’t working, check these requirements:

  • File format: PNG or JPEG only
  • File size: Must be under 10MB
  • Image quality: Very small or corrupted images may fail to process

What to try:

  1. Use a different image to rule out a file-specific issue
  2. Resize your image to a smaller resolution (512x512 pixels works great for avatars)
  3. Convert your image to JPEG or PNG if it’s in a different format (like WebP or HEIC)
  4. Try uploading from a different browser or device

Other Account Issues

Can’t delete my account

  • Account deletion is handled through your account settings
  • If you can’t find the option or run into an error, contact support and we’ll assist you

My display name won’t update

  • Make sure the new name meets the requirements (not empty, within character limits)
  • Try refreshing the page after saving
  • If it still shows the old name, log out and back in

Logged in but seeing a blank dashboard

  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser
  • If the problem persists, contact support
