Joining a Game
Getting into a TriviaNow game takes about 10 seconds. No downloads, no sign-ups — just a browser and a PIN.
How to Join
- Open play.trivianow.net on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop.
- Enter the 6-digit PIN shared by the host.
- Choose a display name (this is what other players will see).
- You are in the lobby! Wait for the host to start the game.
That is it. Once the host kicks things off, the first question will appear on your screen.
[!TIP] The PIN is just numbers — no letters, no case sensitivity. If the host says “the code is 482913,” just type those digits and you are good to go.
Joining with a Team
If the host has enabled teams, you will see a team selection overlay right after entering your name. Pick the team you want to join (or get assigned automatically, depending on the host’s settings). You can learn more about teams in the Teams section.
Guest vs. Registered Player
You can join any game as a guest — no account needed. Just pick a name and play.
If you have a TriviaNow account and are signed in, your stats get tracked automatically. That means your wins, streaks, and scores count toward your profile and show up on Leaderboards.
Direct Join Links
If a friend invited you, you might receive an email with a direct join link. Clicking that link takes you straight to the game — no need to type the PIN manually. The PIN will be pre-filled for you.
Changing Language
TriviaNow supports multiple languages. If you want to switch, use the locale menu in the top corner of the screen before or after joining.
Troubleshooting
Running into issues? Here are the most common ones:

| ”No session found for this PIN” | The PIN does not match any active game. | Double-check the PIN with the host. Make sure you typed all 6 digits correctly. |
| ”This session is full” | The game has reached its maximum player limit. | Ask the host to increase the max players in Session Settings. |
| ”This session has already ended” | The game finished before you joined. | Ask the host to start a new session. |
[!NOTE] If you get disconnected during a game, do not worry — TriviaNow will try to reconnect you automatically. Just keep the browser tab open.
